These two guys—their arms and gazes exemplifying converging vectors—were discussing classes, schedules, and requirements. I heard talk both of a masters’ program and a real-estate license exam so wasn’t totally clear what was going on.

These guys noticed as I tried to take the image stealthily, using my knee to minimize shake. I told them it was part of a composition studies for class; they became slightly confused and even embarrassed, trying to figure out if they should get out the way and then a bit guy-giggly I said no. Their subsequent transformation reminiscent of Barthes’ (highly self-conscious) self-presentation when regarded by a camera.
